How is this different from a rule-based chatbot?

A rule-based chatbot follows flows someone has to draw by hand and breaks on any question outside them. MagizAI reads your content and writes each answer for the question asked, so there are no flows to build or maintain.

Will the chatbot make things up?

It answers from your sources and shows them under the answer. When your content does not cover a question it says it does not know and can pass the chat to your team. It is told to quote prices and policies only from your pages, never from the model's memory.
