Training is what makes the bot answer accurately about your business. Open the bot's Train tab. There are four ways to add knowledge.
Four ways to add knowledge
- Train from your website — paste
https://yourdomain.comand click Read my website. A plain page adds the page plus yoursitemap.xml; a sitemap URL crawls many pages. - Train with AI — type a topic, choose how many Q&As, generate drafts, review, then add.
- Add knowledge manually — choose a source type and fill the fields, then Add & train.
- Retrain / bulk — each source has Run now, Retrain and Delete; the header has Retrain all.
Source types
- Text — a block of text (policies, an "about" blurb).
- Q&A — a question and its answer; the most precise way to teach specific facts.
- URL — a single page to read.
- File — upload PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD or HTML.
- Sitemap — a sitemap URL that crawls many pages at once.
- Chat history — learns from past conversations (choose a look-back window); visitor emails, phones and names are redacted.
How training works
Each source moves through pending → processing → ready (or failed). The page updates live. Behind the scenes MagizAI extracts the text, splits it into chunks, turns each chunk into a vector with your embedding provider, and stores it for fast semantic search. A ready source shows how many chunks were embedded.
No embedding key yet? Training still marks sources ready and the bot answers by keyword search over your text. Add a key later and hit Retrain all to upgrade to semantic search.
Background: training runs on MagizAI's servers, so there is nothing for you to install or run. A large website can take a few minutes. If a source stays on Processing, use Run now on that source; if it still does not finish, contact us.
