How to install an AI chatbot on your website

To install an AI chatbot on your website, create the chatbot, give it your website address so it learns your content, test it on real questions, then embed it by pasting one line of code before the closing body tag of your site. Before you start

  • Your website address

    The chatbot reads your public pages and sitemap to learn what you sell and how you work.

  • Any extra documents

    Price lists, policies or manuals as PDF or text, for anything that is not on your site.

  • Access to your site

    Admin access to WordPress, Shopify, Wix or your site's code, to paste the snippet once.

Step by step for your platform

  • WordPress

    Install the MagizAI plugin, or paste the snippet with a header and footer plugin in the footer area.

  • Shopify

    Online Store, Themes, Edit code. Open theme.liquid and paste the snippet just before </body>. Save.

  • Wix

    Settings, Custom code, Add code. Paste the snippet, choose all pages and place it at the end of the body.

  • Squarespace

    Pages, Custom Code, Code Injection. Paste the snippet in the Footer box and save.

  • Webflow

    Site settings, Custom code. Paste the snippet in Footer code and publish the site.

  • Google Tag Manager

    Add a Custom HTML tag with the snippet, trigger it on All Pages, then submit and publish.

  • React and Next.js

    Load the script once in your root layout. The Install page in your dashboard shows the exact code.

  • WHMCS

Questions people ask

Do I need a developer to install an AI chatbot?

No. The only technical step is pasting one line of code into your site's footer, and most platforms have a box for exactly that. On WordPress you can install a plugin instead.

Will the chatbot slow my website down?

The snippet loads the chat script with the defer attribute, so the browser shows your page first and fetches the chat after it. Your content does not wait for the chatbot.

How long does it take for the chatbot to learn my site?

A small site is usually read in a few minutes. Large sites take longer, and you can test the chatbot on the pages it has already read while the rest finish.

Can I install it on more than one website?

Yes. Each chatbot has its own snippet, so you can run a different chatbot on each site. How many chatbots you can create depends on your plan.

How do I check the chatbot is installed?

Open your site and look for the chat bubble. The Install page in your dashboard also shows whether the chatbot has been seen on your site and when.

How do I add an AI chatbot to an HTML website?

Open the HTML file of each page, or the shared footer file if your site has one, and paste your one-line snippet from the Install page just before the closing body tag. Upload the changed files and the chat bubble appears on every page that carries the line.
